Your First Conversation

After installing Pia, you can start chatting immediately.

Quick Start

1. Launch Pia from the Start Menu or desktop shortcut
2. Choose an AI provider in Settings → AI Provider (or use the default)
3. Type a message in the chat input and press Enter

Choosing an AI Provider

Pia supports multiple AI backends. You can configure:

• OpenAI — GPT-4o, GPT-4o-mini
• Azure OpenAI — your own Azure deployment
• Anthropic — Claude models
• Local models — via compatible endpoints

Speech Input

Pia supports local speech-to-text powered by Whisper. Click the microphone button or use the keyboard shortcut to dictate instead of typing.
